Editorial policy
Genuine Arts Spotlight aims to be careful, transparent and independent. We explain our reasoning, separate what can be observed from what is interpreted, and make corrections when we find an error.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check names, dates, titles and other factual details before publication, using suitable sources where available. An interpretation is not presented as a settled fact; when a point is uncertain or open to debate, we say so. We do not claim first-hand testing or research that did not take place.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Any sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled as such, and a partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial approval.
Corrections
If a published piece contains a factual error, we review the concern and correct it when warranted. Significant changes are explained in the article where appropriate. Readers can send a specific correction request through the Contact page.
Images and illustration
Images are selected to support the subject and are not treated as evidence unless their source and context support that use. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified as illustrations rather than documentary images.
Attention is a way into art
You do not need specialist vocabulary to look carefully. Start with what you notice; then consider how the work was made and what its choices invite you to see.
